Drone Enterprises Support
In an effort to nurture and promote the domestic drone industry, KIAST is supporting development and production of hardware, core technology for software and service platforms and content by drone-related startups and venture businesses.
Project Overview
Subject
Pre-entrepreneurs or drone-related start-ups and venture businesses within 7 years of founding (as of the date of business registration), e.g., drone manufacturers, application companies, and R&D companies (22 businesses)
Recruitment
The final selection of participating companies was made as of Dec. 2017. In case of a vacancy, a recruitment advertisement will be posted.
Moving-in Period
- Initial Contract: At least 6 months and up to 3 years from the start date of the moving-in period
- Contract Renewal: Upon contract expiration, the period can be extended by up to 4 years, depending on the founding year (within 7 years of founding)
Rent and Maintenance Fees
- 40 to 80% of the rent is supported, depending on the founding year.(government funding)
- Participating companies are required to pay a security deposit, part of rent, maintenance fees, and other fees.
※ Security deposit amounts to three months’ worth of rent and maintenance fees.

Workspace
- Part of the rent is supported. A common laboratory, indoor drone test site, conference room, and other facilities are provided.
- Location : 815, Daewangpangyo-ro, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do
- Rent: approximately KRW12,000 per 1 ㎡ / Maintenance Fee: varying depending on the month
- Operation Plan: The overall operation of the Hub, with respect to graduation, eviction, and facility management, shall comply with the 「Operational Regulations for Drone Safety and Promotion Support Center」

Provision of financial support for using expert services, e.g., in design and production, in line with the target product’s development cycle
Certification and Intellectual Property Application
Provision of financial support for outstanding participating companies acquiring certificates, patents, utility model patents, and trademark rights to help them enter new markets, secure their intellectual property rights, and thus enhance their competitiveness
Attracting Investment
Provision of support for outstanding participating companies to secure funds for sustainable growth
Establishment of a cooperation framework
Establishment of a networking environment where synergy can be created among participating companies
