KIAST is a public organization specialized in aviation
safety that nurtures aviation safety experts necessary
for aviation safety, and it is dedicated to certifying,
testing, researching, and technology development for
aviation accident and incident prevention.

Since its establishment in 2013, KIAST has built an
integrated aviation certification system ranging from
aircraft, air navigation safety facilities, light sport
aircraft, ultra-light vehicles, and aviation security
equipment. KIAST is actively promoting aviation
policy support to prevent aviation accidents and
incidents in advance by collecting, analyzing, and
utilizing aviation safety information.

Since 2017, it has been actively supporting the drone
industry development, an innovative growth industry,
by building infrastructure, improving regulations,
funding and supporting corporate development, and
is expanding its role as an aviation safety agency in
preparation for the advent of Urban Air Mobility(UAM).

In preparation for the post-pandemic future, KIAST
will accelerate the realization of the 4th industrial
revolution by strengthening the big data-oriented
aviation accident prevention function and supporting
the development of the drone industry.

The Institute will lead the way in securing the safety
of the people and social value as a public institution.
KIAST, which considers the sky, people, and the
future, will do its best to leap into a global organization
